Happy Birthday to Me... I guess...

Well, that's me 19. Although for some reason, I don't really care.

It seems that as I get older, my birthdays mean less and less to me.
19, nothing particularly special about that particular age, the next "big one" is 21, but I fail to see how.
The social structure as determined by age is a wierd thing, especially over here:

  • At 16, legally, you are allowed to become sexually active, you are not allowed to drive, you are not allowed to buy alcohol and you are not allowed to buy tobacco but you can marry with parental concent. (You've already been able to buy movies and games rated "15" for a year now, nothing special)
  • 17, you can drive, big whoop... Nothing else gets "unlocked"
  • 18, NOW you can buy drink and tobacco, you can also marry without parental concent and you can vote too. You can also buy porn and "18" rated movies and games. (You are also an adult now according to Linden Lab (Second Life))
  • 21, you can buy alcohol in a supermarket. (I am not making this up, some shops have their own age restrictions) Socially you are also now an adult, despite legally being an adult since 16/18 (depends on the crime committed).

I am going to spend today like I do any weekend, I'm going to go to my girlfriends house, watch tv, play videogames and chat.
The only major difference is the fact that she's baked a cake, and happens to have a present for me. Apart from that, normal day.

Also, I really should use these things more often. I don't post enough, helps me get my thoughts out.

Oh well, cya

Sod it. (Posterous -> Tumblr)

i've abandoned switching to Tumblr as it's just too complex to migrate. the daisy chaining breaks too. It will remain updated though as Posterous autoposts to Tumblr. Tumblr is probably just going to be a pretty thing to look at. *hugs Posterous*

NOTICE: Switching from Posterous to Tumblr

I have been unable to find any way to post from Tumblr to Posterous, so blog.flatpackfox.co.cc will now only be used as a method of posting to blog.mileskjeller.net when Tumblrs posting system can't handle what Posterous can. I may switch back in the near future, I don't know. We shall see. My other Posterous sites on the Flatpack Fox network will remain operational though, this one just won't be updated as often. My new blog can be found at blog.mileskjeller.net See you later Posterous.

NOTICE: Switching to Tumblr (soon)

I have taken the decision to switch blogging services, namely because I want to give Tumblr a go.

The only problem that is stopping me from switching properly is the lack of Tumblr's auto-posting services. If there is any way to get Tumblr to automatically places via email I'd like to hear it.

In the mean-time blog.flatpackfox.co.cc remains open as a means of posting to Tumblr >.<

I like Posterous too much just to abandon the service so I want all my Tumblr posts to go through it.

You can access my Tumblr at blog.mileskjeller.net at any time.

Your input is appreciated :3

A Shameless Plug for Rohos Software

I've used Rohos Logon Key on my PC for a bit now and it is a really nice piece of kit.

It allows you to log in using a USB key (or Yubikey or similar is you have one) instead of the traditional username and password system. Brilliant piece of software and does what it does well.

And yes, this really is me, my account has not been compromised :3
